Our 7 Step Process
Step 1 – FREE DISCOVERY CALL
One of our R&D Specialists will call you to ask some initial questions and confirm if you are eligible to claim.
If eligible we will agree our fees with you and send you a letter of engagement.
Initial calls normally take around 15-30 mins of your time.
Step 2 – TECHNICAL INTERVIEW
One of our Technical R&D Specialists will meet with you to collate all the required information to produce a ‘Technical Report’ to support your claim.
The technical interview may take up to 2 hours of your time depending on the complexity of your R&D, it is this part of the claim that will take the most time, however it will be the most profitable 2 hours of your time once you receive your R&D Tax refund back from HMRC!
Step 3 – FINANCIAL INFORMATION
You or your accountant supply us with copies of your year end accounts, corporation tax return and computations, and complete our ‘Finance Discovery’ sheet to tell us the details of the costs you have incurred in your R&D activities.
Step 4 – TECHNICAL REPORT
Your R&D Specialist will create an in-depth Technical Report to support your R&D claim.
It is the Technical Report that takes the time to create as it is this narrative that supports your claim, and we must ensure we answer the points HMRC requires to ensure your claim is successful.
Step 5 – FINANCE REPORT
Your R&D Specialist will collate a finance report based on the information given to us to calculate your R&D claim value, and prepare an amended CT600 ready to file with HMRC.
Step 6 – REVIEW & SUBMISSION
We will send you a copy of the technical report and finance report for you to review to ensure we have included all the appropriate R&D costs, along with a copy of your amended CT600 for approval.
Once approved we will then file this with HMRC on your behalf.
Step 7 – CLAIM SETTLED
Within around 2 months (60 days) HMRC confirm whether the claim has been successful, and issue any refund of tax due.
Many claims re settled within HMRC’s 60 days target however we cannot guarantee it wll be settled within that time frame.
